چکیده

We present a Monte Carlo study of dijet angular distributions at √ s = 14 TeV. First we perform a next-to-leading order QCD study; we calculate the distributions in four different bins of dijet invariant mass using different Monte Carlo programs and different jet algorithms, and we also investigate the systematic uncertainties coming from the choice of the parton distribution functions and the renormalization and factorization scales. In the second part of this paper, we present the effects on the distributions coming from a model including gravitational scattering and black hole formation in a world with large extra dimensions. We report a discovery potential for the mass bin 1 < Mjj < 2 TeV at 10 pb −1 integrated luminosity. DØ Note 5733-CONF First Measurement of Dijet Angular Distributions in the TeV Regime and Searches for Quark Compositeness and Extra Dimensions

We present a measurement of dijet angular distributions in Run II of the Fermilab Tevatron collider. The measurement is based on the Run IIa dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of ≈ 0.7 fb taken with the DØ detector. Normalized shapes of dijet angular distributions have been measured over a range of dijet masses, from 0.25 TeV to above 1.1TeV. This is the first time in collider-b...

FERMILAB-CONF-97/256-E 1 Production of Jets at the Tevatron ∗ a †

Measurements of the inclusive jet cross section and the dijet angular distribution using data from the Tevatron are presented. Comparisons to NLO QCD show good agreement below 250 GeV, but CDF data show an excess at higher ET ; qualitative agreement is seen between the CDF and DØ cross sections. Analysis of the dijet angular distributions exclude quark compositeness below 2.1 TeV.

The Dijet Mass Cross Section at the Tevatron

At a center of mass energy of 1:8 TeV, high transverse energy jet production from hadron beams probes the smallscale structure of the proton down to 10 4 fm. Measurements of the dijet mass spectrum and angular distributions can be used to check consistency with QCD, constrain parton distribution functions, or constrain new physics such as quark compositeness. A previous analysis of the inclusiv...

Jets in p̄p Collisions at √ s = 630 and 1800 GeV

Results are presented from analyses of jet data produced in pp collisions at √ s = 630 and 1800 GeV collected with the DØ detector during the 1994–95 Fermilab Tevatron Collider run. We discuss details of detector calibration, and jet selection criteria in measurements of various jet production cross sections at √ s = 630 and 1800 GeV. The inclusive jet cross sections, the dijet mass spectrum, t...
